Fedd ("we", "the app") is built around one principle: you should not need an account to use it. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.
No account required
Fedd does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide an email address to use any core feature. There is no sign-up wall.
Photos of your fridge
When you take a photo to scan your fridge, the image is analyzed to detect ingredients. This analysis may be processed using a third-party AI vision service. Photos are used solely to identify ingredients and are not stored on our servers beyond what is necessary to complete that analysis, and are not used to build advertising profiles or sold to third parties.
Data stored on your device
Your pantry profile (the staple ingredients you always have on hand) and your recipe history are stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to us unless you choose to enable an optional account sync feature in the future.
Optional account (future feature)
If we introduce an optional account for syncing across devices, it will always remain optional — never required to use the app's core features. Any data collected for that purpose will be covered by an updated version of this policy before it takes effect.
Sharing feature
If you choose to share a recipe card to Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts, that action opens the relevant third-party app and is governed by that platform's own privacy policy. We do not access your social media accounts or post on your behalf.
Data we do not collect
- No email or password (no account required for core use)
- No location tracking
- No sale of personal data to third parties
- No advertising identifiers used for cross-app tracking
Your rights
Since most data stays on your device, deleting the app removes it. If you have created an optional account, you can request deletion of any associated data by contacting us below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Fedd evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
